James Whitney IV- Owner and President

​

James is Senior Logistics Manager/Project Manager with over 15 years of global business and logistics management experience in both government and corporate sectors. I have saved the government and private industry Millions of dollars through LEAN initiatives and mentored junior staff to promotion and success.

 

He is an honorably discharge United States Navy veteran of war and Department of Defense Civilian veteran with three tours of duty in Iraq along with operations in Liberia, Africa and Kandahar, Afghanistan with an active secret security clearance. In his most recent role as a Senior Business Process Engineer for Na Ali'i, in the function of a consultant he assisted the Federal Government and the Department of Defense in mapping out complex processes such as Supply Chain Management, Sustainment, in an 'A-Is' state and help to find process improvements while reducing gaps and process duplications and redundancies through Kaizen events, Gap Analysis, process mapping, SME interviews, Leverage knowledge and experience in business process reengineering and change management to support identification, development and implementation of enterprise business processes to better leverage advances in Navy Supply Chain Management. In his role as an Senior Operations Manager and Leader for Amazons leading Ecommerce Fulfillment Center in Central Pennsylvania, I oversee ~$40M worth of inventory and manage all Inbound Operations for 2 shifts. I oversee 4 Managers, 14 supervisors, and over 400 hourly associates, and utilize over 34 separate warehouse management systems to run a consistently successful operation averaging a 101.34% efficiency to plan and 168.99% to Volume to plan from January 2018 - January 2019. In this roll I created a Defect Reduction Project August 2018: Overall Quality Defect Per Million (DPMO) for Inbound is now averaging 25,793 for the month of Nov -Jan compared to a DPMO of 38,542 prior to plan roll-out; a 33.1% improvement overall, averaging a 2.36% WOW improvement; an estimated cost savings of 1.8 Million per year. I personally trained, prep-interviewed, and mentored to promotion: 3 Tier I AAs promoted to Tier III, 2 Tier III promoted to L4 TOM Team, 1 L4 promoted to L5, and 1 L5 promoted to L6. From January 2018-January 2019 I have maintained a 4.4 My Manager connection score; .2 higher than the peer average for all of Amazon on a scale of 1-5.

 

Mr. Whitney's previous experience consists of being the Senior Operations Manager for all Saks Fifth Avenue E-Commerce Fulfillment Operations responsible for all inbound/outbound operations for all shifts, transportation communication and contracts, Internal Supply procurement, financial obligations/Profit Loss Statements, and LEAN process improvements. This entailed the management of 4 Managers, 10 Supervisors, and ~250 hourly associates, specialists, and temporary labor employees in a ~ 1.2M sqft fulfillment center. This mission was to set up the very first fully automated E commerce Fulfillment Center for Saks Fifth Avenue to whigh end he completed successfully, and made a significant cost savings through the layout and design of the Distribution Center as well as the layout of the Manhattan WMS tailored to suit the needs of GOH and shoe storage. I lead and coordinate continuous improvement activities and projects designed to improve KPI's while utilizing SQL and Manhattan WMS system with an estimated $586K gain in production YOY. I have also been the Weekend Shift Operations Manager II at the Ingram Micro 3PL Apple Inc. FC where I was responsible for all Inbound, LTL, Warehousing, HUB, Retail, Training, RMA (Returns) Operations for the weekend shift in a ~ 600k-sqft distribution center. I have been a Site Director as a government contractor for supply chain management while working at Maga Design and lead an onsite team at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Center working to translate requirements from onsite technical stakeholders for the implementation of the Navy ERP Program. My past government positions entailed being a General Manager of Operations and Supply Management Specialist GS-12 at the Defense Logistics Agency providing logistical support for roughly 90% of the supplies used by the Armed Forces and Federal Agencies on the war front in in Afghanistan, to include trade compliance, country and customs clearances, tariffs, and shipping rate negotiations through prime vendors. I oversaw the daily operations for ~400 Department of Defense civilians and military personnel in ~700M sqft of warehouse operating under a $230M each annual budget across my three DCs; Afghanistan, Hawaii, and Guam. I was in charge of analyzing metrics and performance data to develop, make decisions on, and implement high level and sophisticated operations plans and decisions that affect the safety, security, and mission of the Department of Defense. During my time as the DLA Distribution HQ MRAP/MATV SME, I assisted with the drafting and implementation of the MRAP Program FY11 budget of $3.4B. James was rewarded the DLA Directors Certificate of Appreciation and award for being the Focal point of Distribution for critical Marine Corp Caiman MRAPS in Theater while resolving and reducing Litigated MRAP stock saving the organization and the government $12M. 

 

James holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Central Pennsylvania College; Graduate Certificate in Distribution Management from the United States Army War College, Aberdeen Proving Ground; Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from CSU; Harvard School of Business certificate in Project Management; PMI Professional Facilitator Certificate; and over two hundred federal and corporate certifications.
